A new kind of orthopaedic practice for today’s educated patient
I am one of the few double board-certified physicians in the SF Bay Area focusing on advanced non-surgical therapies for sports medicine and arthritis.
My 30 year experience allows me to provide a unique perspective on your options. When non-surgical treatments are appropriate we’ll discuss the full range and what that means for you. If surgery is your best option, we’ll discuss that too.
As a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, my objective is to use the full scope of my training to craft a plan that works best for you.
While I am now focusing on non-surgical treatments, I’ve done thousands of surgeries for ACLs, knee meniscus, rotator cuff repairs, shoulder instability, and many others. That adds up to a range of experience we can put to work for you.

Guiding Principles
My mission and personal promise is to advise every patient with the full range of options available for your condition, specific to your goals and objectives.
The best treatment options should not be reserved for elite athletes, or “hidden” from the general public. We have an amazing array of treatments available for many musculoskeletal conditions and I will help you navigate through your choices.
Our visit together will be unhurried, and allow us to have a thorough discussion of all the options available to you. Typical visits for new patients may take up to an hour. We will review your problem, orthopaedic history, medical history, examine your affected areas, review imaging, and arrive together at a goal-focused plan. You will meet with me, without aides or assistants. By comparison, most patients will spend only 7 minutes face to face with the orthopedic surgeon at typical U.S. office visits.
In order to offer this highly personalized service my practice is out-of-network with insurance plans and with Medicare. Our office staff will be happy to provide the fee schedule for all our services, which are priced lower than in-network rates at two of the major orthopaedic medical groups in the SF Bay area. At the conclusion of your visit we will provide you with a summary of your visit, which you may choose to submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network benefit coverage.
Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Medical Level 2 Certified practitioner.
I have particular interest in golf related injuries and have been certified as a TPI Medical Level 2 practitioner. This certification required advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of golf-related injuries, and will help you be your best on the course.
